Many people do not understand the ground water connection or how wells and septic systems work. In these two hour workshops held twice a year, instructors from the University of Rhode
Island Home*a*Syst Program and the RI Dept. of Health use models and slides to teach basic concepts. Residents leave with the knowledge of how to protect their well water supply, how and when to
test their well water, how wells are constructed and work, the importance of living in the watershed of a public drinking water supply and how ground water travels. In addition, sub-themes
are often offered on topics such as septic system operation and maintenance, living on a lake front, underground storage tanks, or healthy gardening and lawn care.
Workshops are advertised in the Bargain Buyer, or check |
